Our Journey to Indiana

Our Journey to Indiana July 29, 2014 Day 1 It was incredibly hard to say goodbye to my home, friends and family. Bishop Merrill invited us to sleep at his house last night. My good friend Caroline is the Bishops wife. Our bishop is a kind person with a large heart. I am going to miss him. And the encouraging words that he would give Jason and I. When things were ruff with Payton and Charlie. Bishop says we can call him David now, because he’s not our bishop anymore. Charlie broke the key in the front door lock as we were getting ready to leave this morning. Sigh Needless to say we left later than we hoped. Jason left his insulin in the fridge. I had taken the insulin out and put it in the front room so we wouldn’t forget it. But he wanted to have it in the fridge. Jason contacted David he is going to send it to our hotel in Keokuk Iowa. Payton, Charlie and Emily are riding with me in the suburban. This seems to be a good combination. All three were grumpy early on today. As the miles past they seemed to get along well. Charlie talked of planning his trip back to Utah. The small TV we bought for the suburban is not working. So she has no entertainment beyond her brothers for this trip. It has rained most of the day. Towards the end of the day we were climbing a mountain pass in Wyoming. It was raining very hard, it was dark, and there was road construction. If that wasn’t bad enough, the fog rolled in super thick. It was white knuckle driving until we reached our hotel. Notes from the children… I saw hundreds and hundreds of train while driving through Wyoming- Mckay The hotel floor was way comfortable, I really enjoyed sleeping on that. – Payton This hotels sucks they don’t have a pool.- Emily Classic first day quotes of our trip, from the moving truck * As we are entering Provo Canyon, Harry yells yah we are halfway to Indiana! *At 10:00 pm driving in rain, dark, fog, and construction Mckay says this is the funnest, scariest trip I have ever been on! *Harry, dad where are the cantaloupe? (Antelope) *Mckay, mom says your falling asleep but we are just looking at maps. Mom needs a map.
